Well back and almost posting again, work is hectic as usual, getting it back together after the hectic life of a wildlife photographer out on location, still almost there on the editing now and the travel photography section is finally up! Now onto the important parts!! Publicity, the main body of work and articles for magazines…

So here, without further ado, are the images from the travel photography section of the trip! Borneo Rave 2015 - Travel Photos  And I know, I know, traitorous is the journey to flickr, but I promise, once the work is caught up on here the images will be posted, with far more detail and description to boot, however if you want a sneak peek check it out!!

The full story of the expedition form a travel photography perspective is there, depicting the whole thing from a pov (point of view) perspective, chocked full of conceptual themes to figure out!! Its been a real blast and the most incredible working experience of my entire life, what a chance, what an experience to have, so much to learn and a culture so different to that back here in the UK, makes you stand back and take another look at life it really does ^^; As one of the zoologists from the country (attached to our team to help understand our work and id species in the location better) said, our view of our country is simply “to be free” such a wonderful statement, and after a swim in a river the size of the Thames as well as bathing under a 50ft rainforest canopy in a stream so clean you can drink from it and so warm you could stay in it all day… I have to say… I think I agree!! :D

Still more about the trip to come, and by far the better images to come later too ^^ talk soon and I leave you with the feature of the week/month/whenIknowhowregularlyIcangetawaywithdoingfeatures.

Arrivederci and btw… you’re all mantap :glomp:  (not the sauce, but that’s mantap too ;) )

Its been a fun week, getting back on da, pulling all my old work together and thinking about the future. I'm trying to drive my work more in the direction I want to be aiming, 'conservation hat on!' :D its hard, phrasing things in the right way so that people want to listen, enjoy what the are learning (which can be hard when most of the topics covered are so grim) and keep listening; the one really big thing with all of these hard hitting pieces are that people tend to become desensitised to the work, literature or both! Most people, as is commonly the case, then "preach to the converted" (2020 Vision, 2015), using mostly scientific or ecological language and hitting only those who really care. My hope is to find ways to bring new people into the world of understanding what nature is and just how drastically threatened it is, whilst still being able to hold the converted (not an easy challenge :phew: ).

To do this I have started by working either subtly or taking new looks at how we view nature, using alternative styles in order to try to catch the eyes of different social groups, people that wouldn't normally take any notice, and through that small bit of work, hopefully inspire other artists, designers and photographers to try their hand at conservation related works, slowly spreading the message.
I've started taking some courses, on top of my now finished degree in Marine and Natural History Photography, in ecology, hopefully really bone up (excuse my language) on my ecological terms, whilst pursuing projects that can help out in both small and big ways (I've got a few in the works at the moment so stay tuned on that one...). In the mean time I'm still catching up on all the uploads, still 2 years behind, so if you'd like to take a look at a couple of my early attempts please follow the thumbs below, if you do one thing today, however, please read this article:
www.heartofborneo.org/latest-n…

This might really show you just how crucial the next few years are as far as conservation goes and that the situation isn't just dire, but might be terminal, not just for the human race, but all the species of this fine planet!!

one quote from the article: "Humans are wiping species off the planet at a rate at least 100 times faster than historical levels, providing further evidence that we’re in the midst of a sixth great extinction, concludes a new study based on “extremely conservative” assumptions on past and current extinction rates."

Ever had one of those mornings where you just feel drowsy and out of it? I've had several this week, still ho hum, getting on.
I've started my mammoth upload catchup and getting my work up to date, seems like its going to be a loooong process but a bit of fun to take away from the monotony of it all!! Starting off with some of my 1st and second year work from my time at Falmouth University, great fun going back through it all, got to really get to grips with the back catalogue though, all I've got at the moment is the stock images I use for my Alamy account as I've still yet to get my desktop back up and plugged in after getting home... been 3 weeks now... ^^; Still I'll fill out the gaps as I go (having a bit of fun with the folders atm!!)

Hope all you guys are well (and still da members at all!! ^^; been a little while) gimme a shout if you're still about, be great to have a chat and catch up a bit. Anyways on with works, check out the new stuffs down below (some of the favs of the work).

Back From Uni

Hi all, I know its been a while and I haven’t posted as regularly as I should have but I’m finally done with University, got some solid projects under my belt and started a photography business called RP Photography Solutions.

Its all a bit hectic at the moment, trying to get my life sorted out, getting motoring on jobs and work, fitting it all in is going to be hard, but getting back on da and really getting things chugging along looks like being the order of business.

I’ll be catching up with you all and getting my work caught up on here over the next few months so you can see what I’ve been up to, and how its all progressing, as well as asking for a bit of feedback on the logo I’m designing for the new website coming up soon (the old one can be seen below). In the mean time have a little look at my flickr pages, that I have managed to keep up to date, as well was the old website that, as it is, is serving as a good test bed for ideas (although it really needs some work).

Anyway, hope all you guys are doing well and keep creative!!

Peter
